Avocado shrimp cocktail with home-made whiskey sauce

Maybe a bit of an old fashioned recipe, but it tastes great and it has some flair and elegance. Certainly as you make the whiskey sauce yourself! To be honest if you have ever made this sauce by yourself you won’t want to eat the prepared supermarket version!

Ingredients:

  • 1 avocado
  • 7 oz / 200gr peeled shrimps (I personally prefer the small grey ones)
  • 2 table spoons of mayonnaise
  • 1 table spoon of yoghurt
  • 1 table spoon of Ketchup
  • Lemon juice (squeeze half lemon)
  • 10 ml of Whiskey (or Cognac)
  • Salt/pepper
  • Parsley

 

Recipe:

  • Mix the mayonnaise and yoghurt together
  • Add some Ketchup
  • Add some lemon juice
  • Add the Whiskey
  • Add some salt/pepper
  • Mix it all well and make sure you taste it all the time so you are happy with the taste!

 

Slice the avocado in 2 halves and remove the pit. Put each avocado slide on the 2 plates. Fill it with shrimps and pour the whiskey sauce over it. For decoration you can add parsley on top.
